How to Roast Meat Perfectly
Roasting has to be one of the simplest and most delicious ways of cooking a large piece of meat.
Many people choose to roast meat as cooking for a long period of time this way makes if crispy and browned on the outside and meltingly tender in the middle. The other great benefit to this method of cooking is that while your meat is in the oven you are free to spend your time preparing the rest of the meal.
The meat should first be trimmed, seasoned and tied before putting in the oven to roast. Some recipes also state that the meat should be seared at this point.
Usually meat is roast at about 350F or 175C. You will find that the longer the meat is roasted at a lower temperature the more succulent and tender the end result is. You may have to wait much longer when using this method but the end result of tender moist meat is well worth the wait. It is not wise to roast meat at any lower than 200C or 93C as the meat may not cook through at this or lower temperatures.
Once you have decided on a temperature temperature to cook the roast at, and the oven has been preheated, put the trimmed, seasoned, tied and seared meat into a baking dish and put it into the oven.
The meat should be roast until its ideal internal temperature is reached and this can be tested using a meat thermometer. The ideal temperature depends wholly on what type of meat you are roasting. For example if you have chosed to make roast pork loin, a pork roast’s final internal temperature should be no less than 160F or 70C.
You can leave the meat to rest covered for up to half an hour when you take it out of the oven, this can really help to make sure the meat is moist and tender. After this you should cut the string from the meat but be careful as it may still be very hot.
Slice or shred the meat however you like before serving to your hungry guests!
